The show “Merina”, created by the Spanish fashion firm Oteyza, arrived at the Teatro Auditorio de San Lorenzo de El Escorial on August 25 as part of the San Lorenzo Festival, organized by the Community of Madrid. This innovative work, which combines electronic music, dance and fashion, pays homage to Merino wool, historically considered “Spanish gold.”
After its presentation in cities such as Pamplona and Bordeaux, “Merina” continues to surprise the public with its transversal proposal, which fuses several artistic disciplines. Directed by Paul García de Oteyza and Caterina Pañeda, founders of Oteyza, the show features choreography by Antonio Najarro, former director of the National Ballet of Spain. Najarro has managed to integrate a wide range of styles, from neoclassical ballet to contemporary and urban dance, including flamenco and regional dance.
Thanks to Geosimo Media, the producer of the work, Fluge Audiovisuales was in charge of supplying the audiovisual material. The equipment includes the FOH control, a 20,000 lumen HD laser projector and mobile lighting.
