Barcelona once again brought together some of the leading figures in electronic music, audiovisual creation and digital culture for three days with the Sónar 2026 festival. This year’s edition featured a completely revamped format, with the entire music programme concentrated at Fira Barcelona and six stages operating simultaneously – three indoor and three outdoor.

More than a hundred performances formed part of a line-up headlined by artists such as The Prodigy, Charlotte de Witte, Skepta, Cabaret Voltaire, Boys Noize, Modeselektor, Nia Archives, SBTRKT and Daito Manabe. The Sónar Week programme attracted around 150,000 attendees, whilst Sónar+D brought together 4,000 participants at its new venue, the Casa Llotja de Mar.

Fluge Audiovisuales Barcelona, thanks to the trust placed in us by Festival Sónar and the Sónar Foundation, provided equipment and technical staff for various venues at Sónar, with lighting solutions, LED screens and audiovisual support tailored to the specific characteristics of each area.

On the Park stage, the team was responsible for the lighting and the installation of the LED screen. In the Hall venue, the technical work involved lighting for the main stage, the DJ stage, the dance floor and the perimeter, as well as the LED screens installed on its two stages.

The initiative also extended to Festival Food, where the lighting helped to integrate the food area into the festival’s visual experience, and to the Hub space, equipped with an LED screen for informative and visual content.

One of the main new developments in 2026 was the relocation of Sónar+D to the Casa Llotja de Mar, situated on Passeig d’Isabel II in Barcelona. The historic building hosted conferences, presentations, musical performances, art installations, technological projects and spaces dedicated to professional networking.

Fluge Audiovisuales Barcelona was responsible for the audiovisual production across various areas of this new venue. At the Stage +D, LED screens and columns were installed and integrated into the stage design, alongside a projection onto the four sides of a central cube, a content control system using Aquilon, and a spectacular lighting design based on LED technology.

El Patio featured large-format screens and a versatile sound system designed to cater for a range of activities, from DJ sets to conferences and presentations. Similarly, at VolvoxLAB, the Exhibitors’ Area and the Ágora, audiovisual solutions were installed that were tailored to interactive projects, artistic experiences and new forms of communication.

Organising Sónar and Sónar+D 2026 required the coordination of technical resources across venues with very different uses, capacities and requirements. Live music, digital art, innovation, thought-provoking content and visual media coexisted over three days in a project characterised by its creative, technical and operational complexity.
